Project Overview Map (above)

Clearwater County's broadband build covers several funded areas throughout the County, each made up of smaller sub-areas. The network build is confirmed only for the sub-areas listed in the tables below. Other sub-areas may be added later as demand and resources allow.

How We’re Building the Network

Building the network happens in stages: planning the route, getting approvals, digging trenches, and running fibre lines along main roads. You can order Fibre Connect any time by entering your Blue Sign address on the home page - this gets your property in the queue and lets a crew mark underground pipes and wires. A crew will then bring the fibre from the road to your property, working outside first, then completing the work inside. Once your area's network is fully built, tested, and "live," you will be able to choose one of our Clearwater County internet providers and get connected.

The table below shows what stage your area is in.

Please note: In order to receive internet services to your property, you must first order Fibre Connect by entering your Blue Sign address on the home page. We can only build Fibre Connect once the plans for your area are finished.

Large portions of this project are funded through the Universal Broadband Fund, a Canadian federal initiative with additional support from the Alberta provincial government. The funding aims to bring reliable, high-speed internet to rural and underserved areas within the county. We are grateful for this support, which is instrumental in improving connectivity for residents
